Patricia L. Frothingham

Patricia (Pat) Frothingham, 85, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at her home on May 15, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all of us. Pat was born October 23, 1940 to Carl and Lucille Rasmussen in Waukegan, Illinois. On September 12, 1958, Pat married her high school sweetheart John (Jack) Frothingham at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake. Pat and Jack lived in Crystal Lake and raised three children Tamie, Tracie, and Michael.

Pat always had a passion for giving back to the community. She exemplified that in her leadership role as Social Chair of the P.E.O. Chapter LD: a national organization where women motivate, educate and celebrate women. In addition, she was a member of Crystal Lake Service League and worked as a volunteer at Empath Thrift Shop in Summerfield, Florida where she and Jack resided for ten years after they retired. In 2018, Pat moved back to Crystal Lake where she volunteered at Little Christopher's Resale Shop.

You could always count on Pat to bring the best dish to the party. She had a love for cooking and cherished sharing her recipes with friends and family. Pat had a passion for spending time in the sun on the golf course alongside Jack and old friends. Her favorite pastime was supporting her family in doing the things they loved; from watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sporting events, plays, dance recitals, and live concerts.

Pat is survived by her daughters Tamie (Charles) Cebula of Frankfort, IL, Tracie (Bernie) Rice of Crystal Lake, her son Michael (Megan) Frothingham of Shaker Heights, OH. Her beloved grandchildren Gregory, Daniel, Carolyn, Derek, Nicole (Mikey), Meghan (Jake), Brendan, Meredith, Colin, and Johnny; her great grandchildren, Corey, Addison, and Rosie; brother Jack and sister Kay. She was preceded in death by her infant son Gregory, her devoted husband of 59 years Jack; her siblings Carlyle, Shirley, RuthAnn, Jean, and Janet.

A Mass to celebrate Pat's life will be held on June 25, at 10:00 am, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 West Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake. Burial will occur at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following Mass.
