Patricia Jean Kay (Nicholson) Rainey, 49, of Crystal Lake passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Trisha, as she was known, was born and grew up in La Porte, IN. She met her husband, Devin, at her cousin’s wedding in 1993 and they were married on October 10, 1998. After moving to Crystal Lake, Trish studied to get her cosmetology license and went on to be a partner in two salons. When her boys were born, she focused on them with great joy.
Through the years, Trish and Devin took many trips and attended many concerts with family and friends. Along with her boys, she cherished her nieces and nephews as they grew up. Besides loving her family beyond measure, Trish greatly cherished flowers and her pets.
Recently Trish bravely fought cancer with strength and dignity. If you knew her as Trisha, Trish, or Patricia, you know she was loyal and strong to the end.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Devin; sons, Zachary Rainey and Jacob Rainey; mother and stepfather, Anita and Dan Temple; mother-in-law Joyce Rainey; siblings, Kevin (Dawn) Nicholson, Luke (Dana) Temple, Melissa Temple, Christian Temple, Douglas (Melanie) Rainey; nieces and nephews, Bryce and Kyra Nicholson, Samantha Temple, and Cera Rainey; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins both near and far; and her beloved pet Chloe.
Trish was preceded in death by her father, David Jacob Rasmussen Nicholson; brother, Dan Temple, Jr.; uncles, Ralph Hopkins, Larry Hopkins, and Ron Nicholson; cousin, Jon Nicholson; Father-in-law Rusty Rainey and her grandparents, especially her grandmother, Carol.
Devin would like to especially thank Trish’s mother, Anita Temple, for her love and support during her fight; our wonderful neighbors and the many friends who remained in constant communication with her and us; the many Dr’s, nurses and technicians at Northwestern Cancer and Proton Center.
The family will be hosting a celebration of her life this Saturday from 1-5 at her home in Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, the Rainey family asks you instead contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and make your donation known to her family, to both honor and bolster the continued battles against cancer. http://www.stjude.org
