Patricia Catherine McGuire

Patricia Catherine McGuire (nee Small), age 89, of Schaumburg, IL passed away on August 26th at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born in Chicago, IL on February 8, 1935. Her family was her life. Patsy loved experiencing so much of God's blessings in life through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She occasionally made the trip back to the South side to enjoy many joyous celebrations with her brothers and sisters and extended family. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries among other uplifting stories where good triumphs over evil. She got up every morning, read her Bible and prayed for all of us. Patsy was an avid walker, walking consistently until days before her homegoing.

Patsy was a loving wife of her beloved husband of 50 years, John (Jack) McGuire who preceded her in death; loving Mother of Theresa (Larry) Ostling, John (Kim) McGuire, Sharon McGuire, Penney (Mark) Mumford, Andrew (Deb) McGuire; cherished Grandmother of Sarah (Everardo) Leon, Larry Ostling Jr, Jonathon Ostling, Joshua McGuire, Madeline McGuire, Grace McGuire, Sean (Sarah) Whitsitt, Rose Whitsitt, Kiley Stone, Sierra Stone, Thomas Stone; much loved Great Grandmother of Evan Leon, Aaron Leon and Crew Hansen.

Patsy was a Dear Sister of Robert (late Mary Jean) Small, the late Helen (late Joe) Benson, Phyllis (late Rich) Sullivan, John (Nancy) Small, Mary (late Phil) Polito, Ed (Debbie) Small, Richard (Maria) Small and Michael (Dorothy) Small and fond Aunt to many nephews and nieces. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Small.

A memorial service for Patricia will be at 11AM on October 10 at Quentin Road Baptist Church, 24126 N Quentin RD., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Visitation will be from 10-11AM, before the service.
