Mass of Christian Burial for Paul D. Matouski, Sr., 89, of Barrington, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 27, at St. Anne Church, corner of Ela and Franklin Streets, Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. Born July 22, 1920 in Chicago, he passed away suddenly February 23, 2010 in Barrington. Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation 3-8 p.m., Friday, February 26, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Mr. Matouski worked as an optician for Royal Optical in Chicago for many years. He was a member of St. Anne Church and enjoyed reading, investing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann nee Straub, whom he married August 2, 1939 at St. William?s Parish, children Paul D., Jr., (Carole) Matouski of Cary, Natalie (Mark) Karney of Barrington, and Valarie (John) Lane of Brookeville, Maryland; a daughter-in-law Sue Matouski; grandchildren Michelle (Rick) Teel, Renee (Bill) Norberg, Denise (Elliott) Whitefield, Laura (John) Cison, Paul D. Matouski IV, Jared, Jeffrey and Kevin Karney, Hilary, Bianca, Erin and John Paul Lane, Julian (Samantha) Vasquez, and Helena (Scott) Helt; and great-grandchildren Ryan and Austin Teel, Kyle, Eric and Lindsey Norberg, Robert and Ashley Whitefield, John Jr., Brice and Julie Cison, Ella, Zac, and Jordan Vasquez, and Cyan and Lucian Helt. He was preceded in death by a son, Fredric Matouski and a grandson, Paul D. Matouski III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60602.
