Peggy Christine McDaniel

Peggy C. McDaniel, 66, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022. Born in Chicago, IL on June 3, 1956 to Carl and June Lange. Peggy and her siblings (Julie, Linda and Ross) grew up in Des Plaines, IL. Peggy was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Peggy is survived by her sister Julie (Leroy) Sommerfeld, her brother Ross, and brother-in-law Glen Parkhurst Sr. Peggy’s favorite role was Aunt to her cherished nephews and nieces: Nick (Katie) Parkhurst, Quentin Lange, Jennifer (Graham) Fairbank, Glen Jr (Samantha) Parkhurst, John (Denisse) Sommerfeld, Amy (Ryan) Friis, and Kelly (Brandon) Morgan and several great nieces and nephews. Peggy’s best friend, Larry Vitous, was always her guiding star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Parkhurst, and sisters-in-law Carol and Karen Lange.

Peggy was a fun-loving person and made everyone smile. Peggy loved dogs and had several over the years. She was famous for her Jell-O molds with fluff that she made for every party and family gathering. Parties and dressing for the occasion, including themed jewelry, delighted Peggy. Angels and Kitchen Fairies decorated Peggy’s home. She was a Project Manager for Kenar Homes ensuring thousands of homes in the Chicagoland area were built according to plans and on schedule.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service at 12:00 pm all at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Private inurnment.
