Peggy Stangeland, 71, of Pingree Grove, IL passed away on September 26, 2022.

Peggy grew up in Chicago, IL and raised her family there with her husband Robert.  Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends while bringing them together for celebrating birthdays, holidays and any other event she could think of.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she always had multiple trees decorated to celebrate the season.

Peggy’s entrepeneurial spirit led her to open multiple businesses during that time, including a local candy store (Candy Crafts) and a resale shop.  Her resale shop allowed her to create a business while doing what she enjoyed; searching markets and garage sales for a great bargain!  She opened these businesses to serve the community she lived in and always had family and friends by her side to lend a helping hand.

Peggy also valued community and giving back to those in need.  She worked many years for Goodwill in an effort to help others and volunteered her time at animal shelters as well.

Peggy will be dearly missed and always remembered. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents George and Arbutus Harles.  She is survived by her husband Robert, children Kelly (Alex) and Brett; her grandson Dylan; sisters Janet and Mary; beloved pupper Abby; and many, many friends, and family members.

Peggy requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. Details will be shared at a later date once finalized.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association of Illinois, an organization she was passionate about.
