Peter F. Bloom

Peter F. Bloom, 76, of Marengo, passed away on September 14, 2023. He was born on June 5, 1947 in Rockford to Maurice and Elizabeth (Gaspari) Bloom.

A Rockford native, Peter was a self-made man, founding and nurturing his business, Pride Construction, from the ground up. He had a deep love for the outdoors, relishing days filled with hunting or fishing.

Peter and his wife Sandra “Cindy”, who shared 44 beautiful years of marriage before her passing in 2018, traveled and collected art together, creating a lifetime of wonderful memories. Peter was a family man at heart, a doting grandpa who held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Tracy (Tim) Strepek, Tiffany (Chad) Elswick, and Nicholas (Laura) Bloom, and his grandkids Zoe, Lucas, Ravyn, Siena, Travis, and Gavin. He also leaves behind his siblings, Joanne (Paul) Erickson, Alice Bloom, Chuck Bloom, Sharon Gigante, and Mary Jo (Duane) Chambers.

Join us to celebrate Peter’s life on Saturday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with military honors at 11:30 a.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
