Phillip Allan Davis, 71, of Lake Zurich, passed away surrounded by family on February 19, 2023. He was born on October 12, 1951 in Frankfort, IN to the late James and Sue (nee Sellars) Davis.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda (nee Miller); daughters Kristin (Eddie) Barth and Laurie (Steve) Thomas; grandchildren Emily Thomas, Lucia and Sadie Barth; siblings Jay (Cindi) Davis, Steve (Lori) Davis, and Suzanne (Don Carlos) Davis; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Phil grew up in Forest, IN and graduated from Clinton Central High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 1973. Spending his entire career in the insurance industry, he started as a fire protection engineer, working with large corporate risks, and concluded his career as an underwriter, retiring in 2019.
A lover of music his entire life, Phil was active in Purdue University Bands, both during his college career and as an alumni, and was always one to cheer on the Boilermakers. He was an active member of St. Peter UCC in Lake Zurich – singing in the choir, playing handbells, and helping deliver Meals on Wheels. Phil loved new adventures and experiences, trying new foods and traveling the world with friends and family. He especially enjoyed getting together with family and being with his granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23 at 12 Noon at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church Street, Lake Zurich. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service.
