Ravinder Kaur Battu, 74, of Vernon Hills, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025. She was born on May 27, 1951 in Taunggyi, Burma to the late Sardar Sohan Singh and Sardarni Gian Kaur.
Bholla married her beloved husband, Bhagwan, in Toronto, Canada, on May 28, 1978. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. After their wedding, they moved to Illinois, where they raised their family with devotion, creating a home filled with warmth and boundless care.
Born with a passion for the simple joys of life, Bholla was a gifted cook who found joy in creating meals that brought people together. Her culinary expertise, especially in Burmese and Indian cuisine, was renowned among family and friends. Every meal she prepared was a labor of love, seasoned with the perfect blend of flavors and spices, always accompanied by laughter and stories shared at her dining table.
Beyond the kitchen, Bholla had an eye for beauty, whether it was the perfect fabric for her crocheting projects or the vibrant blooms in her garden. Pink roses and jasmines were her favorites, and she took great pride in tending to her garden, watching it flourish just as she nurtured the lives of those around her.
Traveling was another of Bholla’s great joys, with each new destination adding to her collection of cherished memories. Whether exploring distant lands or simply taking a walk through her neighborhood, Bholla embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm.
At home, Bholla loved to host gatherings. Her door was always open, and her home was a place where family and friends gathered to share meals, laughter, and love. She had a knack for making everyone feel at home, creating an atmosphere of warmth and connection.
In quieter moments, Bholla could often be found relaxing with a classic Bollywood film or enjoying a peaceful nap, content in the stillness. Her gentle spirit, combined with her boundless energy and deep sense of joy, made her a constant source of light in the lives of those around her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Deep Kaur Battu of Lafayette, IN; Kamaljit Kaur Battu of Chicago, IL; Mamta (the late Sanju) Kyaw of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Rithika Kyaw of Chicago, IL and Siddhartha Kyaw of Ft. Myers, FL; her siblings, Sardarni Harbans (the late Dayal Singh) Kaur and Sardarni Gurdeep (Inderpaul Singh) Kaur.
