Raymond Kampsen

Barrington, Illinois,A Memorial Service for Raymond Kampsen, 84, of Port Barrington will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, where there will be a visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Father Tom Bishop will officiate. Inurnment will be private. He entered eternal life December 27, 2009. Born November 5, 1925 to Henry and Helen (nee Caspers) Kampsen and part of a large family with eight siblings, Raymond played football in high school, then went on to graduate from the University of Michigan. He served in the Marines during WWII. He enjoyed flying his personal plane, spending time with friends and played many games of bridge. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, nee Hamilton; children, Margo Kampsen and Michael (Ann) Kampsen; and grandchildren Nicholaus and Kelsey Kampsen. In lieu of flowers memorials in Raymond?s name may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
