Rebecca June (Sorvald) Roller

Rebecca June (Sorvald) Roller, 93, currently of the Bickord in Crystal Lake, IL, formerly of Waukesha, WI, passed away on January 24, 2020 in Crystal Lake.  She was born on January 18, 1927, in Stoughton, WI, the last living of ten children born to Harry and Omanda (Holton/Halvorson) Sorvald.

Rebecca graduated from Port Wing High School in Port Wing, WI in 1945, then received her nursing degree from Lutheran General in the Chicagoland area.   She spent most of her nursing career at Milwaukee County Hospital.  In September 1957, she married Harold Roller in Cornucopia, WI.  He preceded her in death in 2011.

She enjoyed rosemaling, sewing & quilting, taking walks and playing with her grandchildren. Visiting her old homestead in Cornucopia, WI was always something she looked forward to. Rebecca will be missed by her family with whom she found much joy in being around.

Survivors include her children, Neal (Lisa) Roller and Kurt Roller; grandchildren, Danielle (Pat) Brennan, Kelsey “K.C.” (Ryan) Loftus, Sydni and Shelby Roller; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters, Syneva Farleigh, Arlette Sorvald, Marian Sorvald, Yvonne (Richard) Dangle, Harriet (Lawrence) LeBel; and brothers, Truman Sorvald, Johan Sorvald, David Sorvald and Roald Sorvald.

A visitation will be Monday, January 27, from 3pm until the time of a service at 5pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL.   She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
