Rhea Harvey

Rhea L. (Craigo) Harvey passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026 in McHenry, Illinois. She was born on September 12, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio to Denver C. and Pearl F. (Reidenbach) Craigo. She grew up there alongside her brother Dave.

Rhea graduated from Newcomerstown High School and went on to dedicate much of her career to Secretarial, Human Resources, and Medical Office work with time off to raise her children. It was through her Plant Manager’s office that she met the love of her life, David "Dave" Harvey. It was love at first sight. After a long-distance relationship between New York state and Ohio, the couple married on July 6, 1974 and shared a loving marriage built on devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. After several Corporate Transfer opportunities, their family settled in Crystal Lake over 36 years ago.

Together, Rhea and Dave built a wonderful life raising three children: Chad, Sue, and Erin. Rhea loved spending time with her family and made it a priority to attend every milestone, celebration, and event. She especially cherished her grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.

Rhea will be remembered for her generous heart, her strength, and her loving spirit. She loved with such generosity that she never wanted to share her personal pain. Rhea was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be there for those she loved. Her kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love will continue through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rhea is survived by her loving husband, Dave Harvey and their children: Chad (Jennifer) Harvey, Sue (Mike) Zimmerman, and Erin (Tom) Handler, and grandchildren: Emily, Sam, and Ben; Maggie, Audrey, Natalie, and Caroline; Ava, Caleb, and Mackenzie. They have been further blessed with 3 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and extended family. Rhea was preceded in death by her parents, Denver and Pearl Craigo; and brother, Dave Craigo.
