Richard Allen Elseng

Allen Elseng, age 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Rick was a beloved son, brother, brother in-law, and uncle/great uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a father to his pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Henrietta Elseng; and brother, Terence Elseng.

Rick was born in Chicago, IL on January 25, 1961. Rick enjoyed life and loved people.  Everyone, young and old, really liked Rick. He was quiet-natured, had a heart of gold, and was a gentle soul.

Rick was an avid animal lover and supported charities that dealt with humane endeavors for animals.  He was deeply fond of his many pets, especially Gadget and Tabby. Rick spent many years breeding and racing greyhounds.  He also worked in home improvement and was a truck driver for a time.

Rick had many talents, ranging from dancing and singing to making jewelry. He enjoyed camping and all things outdoors. Rick also enjoyed watching many movies and car racing. He will be forever missed.

A committal service will be held for Richard at 1:15pm on April 13, 2024, at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL.
