Richard Ziemba
Richard Ziemba, age 84, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24th, 2024. Richard was born in Ludlow, MA, on January 5th, 1940, son of the late Stanley and Bernice (Piecuch) Ziemba.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irmgard J. (Amann) Ziemba; his son, Dr. Derrick Ziemba, and his spouse Christine (Prokop) Ziemba; his daughter, Erika (Ziemba) Muenzen, and her spouse Jeff Kalebic; and his five grandchildren, Emma Rose and Jack Ziemba, Nathan, Madeline, and Quinn Muenzen.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Richard lived a full and meaningful life. He graduated with a master's degree in business from Western New England College and spent over 50 years working as a National Sales Manager for Pollak Engineering, previously known as General Instrument and Stoneridge respectively. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time on the east coast with his children and five grandchildren.
Richard was also an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for ice hockey. His love for the sport was something he shared not only with his son and daughter but also with his grandson Jack. He also enjoyed spending his Tuesday afternoons on the golf course with his golfing group and, alongside his wife, served as an Usher and Greeter at the 7:30 am Sunday Mass at St. Anne’s parish in Barrington.
Irmgard Ziemba
Irmgard Ziemba, age 85, beloved and amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28th, 2024. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on July 31st, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Olga (Fuecht) Amann.
Irmgard was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband of 61 years, Richard Ziemba. She is survived by her son, Dr. Derrick Ziemba, and his spouse, Christine (Prokop) Ziemba; her daughter, Erika (Ziemba) Muenzen, and her spouse, Jeff Kalebic; and the joy of her life, her five grandchildren, Emma Rose and Jack Ziemba, Nathan, Madeline, and Quinn Muenzen.
Irmgard was known for her warmth, strength, and dedication to her family. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her loved ones first and offering them unwavering support and love. Her kindness, sense of humor, and caring spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Irmgard’s legacy of love, compassion, and grace will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Irmgard loved traveling with her husband and spending time on the east coast with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In addition to her family, Irmgard was deeply involved in her community. She donated her time to the school library at St. Anne’s School and, alongside her husband, served as an Usher and Greeter at the 7:30 am Sunday Mass at St. Anne’s Parish in Barrington. She also served as a Minister of the Eucharist at local nursing homes within Barrington, sharing her faith and compassion with those in need.
A private graveside service for both Richard and Irmgard will be held for immediate family.
