Richard G Capcik

Richard “Dick” “Gizmo” Capcik, age 82, was a larger-than life character with a great sense of humor, deeply devoted to his family, and a true people person. Known for his raw language and standout personality, Richard found joy in cooking, building restaurants and fishing. He built numerous pizza restaurants and fast-food locations, and also owned his own bars and restaurants throughout his career.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Capcik, his children, Deborah Burrell, Karrine Mahovsky (Jeff), and Christopher Capcik (Michelle), and his grandchildren, Jake Gatenby, Kylie Gatenby, and Avery Capcik. He also leaves behind siblings Joseph Capcik (wife Pam) and Cheryl “Chas” Wright.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Cam.

Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.
