RICHARD EDWARD GHIGLIERI, M.D.

May 17, 1935 – September 24, 2026

Dick was born in Wallace, Idaho to Naldo Joseph and Florence Kapfer Ghiglieri. He graduated from Wallace High School, Seattle University and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Brook General Hospital and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Letterman General Hospital. He served in the United States Army for eleven years, six in Germany.

He established his private medical practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico and then moved it to Napa, California. He served as Chief of Staff at the Queen of the Valley Hospital and was also Head of Ob-Gyn. In his career he delivered over 4500 babies. He loved tennis, skiing, travel (having been to 43 countries, some for long periods of time), opera, duplicate bridge and his many German Shepherd dogs. He was a news hound and enjoyed watching football and basketball, having been captain of his Wallace High School team.

Most important to Dick was his family. He is sorely missed by his wife and lifelong companion, Anne Crocker Morrow Ghiglieri, Ph.D. and their dearly beloved daughters: Patrice Kramm (Morgan), Elise Morrow, Alice Crocker Ghiglieri and Joan Ghiglieri Schildgen (Scott). He adored his grandchildren: Tennessee Yoder, Alice Brousseau, Elizabeth Kramm, Christopher Servat, Christian Yoder, Caroline Servat, Dr. Anna Martin, Emily Rose Martin, William Martin. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Mia, Eli, Alexis, Maximus, Henri, Violette, Noelie, Isaiah, and Gabriel. He was very close to his in-laws: Dr. John Morrow, Michael Morrow and Mary Patricia Chellson 

He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Robert and has one surviving brother, Norman.

Services for Dick will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Beusching Rd., Lake Zurich. A reception will follow at The Lodge at Lake Barrington Shores.  Times are currently pending.
