Richard F. Lesniak

Richard Frank Lesniak, 69, of Cary, passed away on March 13, 2024. Born in Chicago Heights on November 13, 1954, to Frank and Victoria Lesniak, Rich was the first American born child in a family of Polish immigrants. It was a source of great pride that was celebrated by both the family and the neighbors. He was teased that one day he could be President!

Rich graduated from Northern Illinois University and married Carol Christian in 1979 in Arlington Heights. He retired as a Senior Vice President at Axa XL after 40 years as a commercial property casualty insurance underwriter.

Rich had a passion for sports, both watching and playing with his boys. He especially followed all Chicago sports teams. His number one priority was caring for his wife, Carol, and working on his house, always undertaking home improvement projects. Rich was known for his devotion, dedication, and relentless work ethic, unwavering in his support of his wife, Carol, and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Adam, Paul, and Dan; and siblings Wanda (Bill) Burton, Irene McLain, and John (Pat) Lesniak.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Victoria; his brother, Edward; and his father and mother-in-law, William and Betty Christian.
