Richard A. Sachtschale

Richard A. Sachtschale, 87 of Barrington, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023. He was born on March 25, 1935 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Richard and Alice (nee Trefelner) Sachtschale.

Richard served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army Reserves and, as an architect, spent most of his career designing skyscrapers along the magnificent Chicago skyline.  He was also an active parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church and St. Raymond Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathleen M. (nee Walsh); daughters, Madonna (Paul) Houser and Julie (David) Esau; Daughters-in-law, Ellen (Rick) and Johnna (Tim) Sachtschale; sister-in-law, Leigh Sachtschale; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his sons, Rick, John and Tim Sachtschale and brother, James Sachtschale.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St. (corner of Ela and Franklin St.).

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made in Richard’s name to the charity of your choice.
