Richard & Bernice Fuhs

Richard R. Fuhs, 92, of Schaumburg, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1931 to the late Robert and Evelyn (nee Olson) Fuhs.

Richard worked for Illinois Bell for 28 years, until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed drawing, golfing, woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Richard married the love of his life, Bernice, on June 23, 1956 in Chicago, Il.

Bernice E. Fuhs (nee Bauer), 77, of Schaumburg, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2011. She was born on May 26, 1934 to the late Charles and Bernice (nee Wallace) Bauer.

In her younger years, Bernice worked for Illinois Bell and later became a homemaker. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and in her free time loved playing bingo and spending time with her family.

Richard and Bernice are survived by their three sons, Dan (Jean), Rick (Julie), and Tom (Lisa) Fuhs; grandchildren Carrie, Nicole (Kyle) Seanor, Stephanie (Zahir) Noorani, Lindsay (Christopher) Lenard, Meagan (Mike) Cintron, Patrick (Sabina) Murray, Tim and Kia Fuhs; great-grandchildren Olivia Noorani, Nyra Murray, Autumn Seanor, Oliver and Kaylee Cintron, and Richard’s sister-in-law Risha Fuhs; nephew, Tony, niece, Cyndi and close cousins, Sandy, Johnny and Susie.

Richard and Bernice were preceded in death by Richard’s brother, Don Fuhs and nephew Mike and Bernice’s sister, Hazel; Aunt Joannie and Uncle Sam Yoksoulian.

Visitation for Richard and Bernice will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL 60010.
