Robert (Bob) Baur died peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2025. 

Bob was born on May 9, 1945, in Chicago before his family moved to Burtons Bridge. On May 9, 1985, he married Patricia Kolak. They were married for 40 years. He was loved by all and will be missed especially by his bird Shasta. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Pat, his niece Vickie Birch (Kolak), nephews Steve Thorne, Robert Thorne and Tony Kolak, great nieces, Carrie Birch, Tammy (Joe) Riska, his godchild Melissa (David) Kimpel. Great nephews and nieces, Joe (Sami) Kolak, Tyler and Hannah Hudson, Gabriel and Ava Riska, David and Emily Kimpel. 

Bob was on the Nunda Rural Fire Department in Burtons Bridge for 18 years while being the fire chief for 8 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother, and sister-in-law Mary (Kolak) Thorne.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, beginning at 3 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Homes, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014, until a service at 5:30 p.m.
