Robert "Bob" D. Morrison

Robert “Bob” D. Morrison, 79, of Long Grove, passed away at home on November 18, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1946 in Waukegan, IL to Robert and Pearl Morrison.

On October 7, 1978, Bob married the love of his life, Shirley (nee Taylor), at Immanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan, Illinois. Together they celebrated 47 beautiful years of marriage, building a home filled with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Bob was blessed with five children and 7 grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Bob was a lifelong learner and a passionate professional. He earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, later continuing his education and receiving his master’s degree from Roosevelt University. He went on to spend an incredible 46-year career with Abbott, a place he truly loved. His commitment, integrity, and passion for his work left a meaningful legacy among colleagues and friends.

Above all else, Bob cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Shirley, his children, Heather (Arc) Capulong of Hawthorn Woods, IL; Bob Morrison of Arlington Heights, IL; Brian Morrison of Long Grove, IL; Kevin (Hannah) Morrison of Libertyville, IL; and Keith Morrison of Vernon Hills, IL; grandchildren, Emma Capulong, Charlie Capulong, Ryan Capulong, Max Morrison, Lia Morrison, Lily Morrison and Samuel Morrison; his siblings, Ken (Lynn) Morrison, Cheryl Williams and Debi Gann.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jeff Morrison.

Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2025 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.

Flowers are welcome, though memorial contributions may also be made to a local food pantry.
