Robert Koscielniak, 65, of Crystal Lake, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009. He was born November 20, 1943, in Chicago to Adeline and the late Walter Koscielniak. He worked at Poole Brothers in Chicago from 1959 to 1969, then at Black Dot in Crystal Lake from 1969 to 1999. Following his retirement, he worked at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake from 2000 to 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many activities. He also enjoyed fishing, creating picture calendars, building his model train layout, and traveling. In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his wife, Maureen (nee Kennedy), whom he married June 19, 1965, in Chicago; daughters, Patricia (Michael) Schneider of Rockford, Colleen Koscielniak of Genoa City, WI, Susan (Greggory) Rokus of Woodstock, and Sharon (Thomas) Tannhauser of Streamwood; grandchildren, David and Megan Schneider, Caitlin Rokus, and Amanda, James "JT", and Alexander Tannhauser, siblings, David (Dolly) Koscielniak, Joyce (Richard) Selof, Roy (Carol) Koscielniak, and Marianne (John) Michnowski; and many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be from 3-9pm Sunday, Sept. 14 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt 176), Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue Monday, Sept. 14 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake from 9:30am until the Mass at 10:30am. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary. Memorials in his name may be given to Northwestern University Dr. Singhal Research Fund, 750 N Lake Shore Dr, Ste 750, Chicago IL 60611.
