Robert "Rob" Frenz

Robert John Frenz, age 50, of Wonder Lake,IL passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025. He was born on May 21, 1975. A beloved husband, son, and friend, Rob was known for his generous spirit, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He enjoyed sports, most notably the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs, golf with friends, a TouchTunes Master, lover of many genres of music including the great Jimmy Buffet, trivia games, and Malort.

Rob is survived by his wife of 27 years; Rhiannon Frenz; his beautiful, sweet pup Mocha; parents, Robert and Christine (Hurley) Frenz; brother, Jonathan Frenz (Alicia); father and mother in law, Don and Diane Finley; sister in law, Krissy Finley; brother in law, Brad Finley (Diania); brother in law, Jake Finley; aunt, Eileen Hurley; nieces and nephews, Charlotte Frenz, Owen Frenz, Magnus Finley, and Devon Finley; his second family, the Kwayzers, Richard, Deb,Chandra and Abby; and many other friends who will deeply miss his warmth, humor and joking spirit.

Rob was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Gladys Hurley of Crystal Lake, his paternal grandparents, William and Anna Frenz of Crystal Lake, and his aunt, Linda (Hurley) Mack.

Saturday, November 8, at 11:00 am, there will be a visitation followed by a memorial service from noon- 1:00 pm at Living Waters Lutheran Church (1808 Miller Road, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A Celebration of Life will be held at Nikos Red Mill (1040 Lake Avenue,Woodstock, Illinois 60098) at 2 pm. Friends and family are encouraged to wear their sports attire in remembrance of Rob. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family’s GoFundMe to offer support during this difficult time.
