Robert L. Turner, 93
Of The Bickford in Crystal Lake
Born February 21, 1922 in Atlantic, Iowa, he passed away peacefully November 1, 2015 in Crystal Lake.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946 as an Aviation Machinist. He married Patricia Choate July 10 1946 in Melrose Park, IL. In 1950 they moved to Crystal Lake, into the home Robert built. Bob worked for BurDent Manufacturing and its subsequent divisions until his retirement after 37 years.
He is survived by his children; Susan (Allen) Chodl, and Nancy Melvin; and brother Max (Joann) Turner of Elkhorn, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; parents, Ora and Maude Turner; sisters, Lela Zellmer of Atlantic,Iowa, and Helen Soukup of Cary, IL; and brother Floyd Turner who was MIA during WWII in the Battle of Kula Gulf in the Soloman Islands.
Memorial visitation will be held from 3pm until the time of the memorial service at 7pm Thursday, November 5 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
