Ronald "Ron" John Sessions of Algonquin, IL, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and honorable fire service professional, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026 at the age of 79.
Born on September 4, 1946 in Twin Falls, Idaho, Ron answered the call to serve his community early in life. He began his 50+ year distinguished career with the Arlington Heights Fire Department, later serving the Elgin Fire Department and closing out his career with Marengo Fire Rescue District.
Beyond the fire house, Ron was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished uncle and his dog Spike's best friend. He lived his life fully and found joy in the simple things, a good laugh, time with family and friends, a round of golf and a cigar in hand. He was always on par - especially at the 19th hole. Ron had a warm sense of humor and a way of making those around him smile. His laughter, kindness, larger than life spirit will be deeply missed.
Ron is survived by his spouse, Meg; daughters; Kim Almeida, Sarah Wroblewski (Ryan), son, Adam Sessions (Jill); beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
In accordance with Ron’s wishes, a private family ceremony will be held to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Ron to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance at Ways to Give
