Rose Cameron

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Rose Cameron of Mundelein, IL on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 64. She was born on July 24, 1960 in Chicago, IL. She spent her younger years in Elk Grove, IL, and most of her adult years in Lake & McHenry County, IL.

Rose will be remembered by her children: Shane (Vanessa) Cameron, Kelly (Ben Jefferson) Cameron, Cody (Kendall) Cameron, and Casey Jenkins; and grandchildren: Cami, Jackson, Emerson, Frank, Toby, Sistine, Lyle, Brandon, Ryan, and Vivienne, among many other family and friends.

Rose’s greatest pride and joy in life was being a mother, where she provided lasting memories, endless laughs, and important learning lessons over the years that will never be forgotten. Rose was fun and energetic, always looking for adventure and opportunities to create core memories through games, activities, and spending quality time together. She was a thoughtful, caring, and loving mother. She enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events, cheering embarrassingly from the bleachers, but always trying to be there for her kids. Rose was a creative artist, making homemade party invitations, holiday decorations, and family-themed Halloween costumes. Becoming a ‘Grammy’ was one of her greatest joys. She adored her grandchildren and they adored her.

She had a passion for beauty and was proud for graduating from cosmetology school. She continued her education and became an instructor. In her earlier years, she had a deep love for acting and expressing herself on stage. Rose was known well and dearly loved in the Alcoholics Anonymous community, where she was a sponsor and support for many, telling her life’s story at meetings and empowering so many others to make positive changes in their lives. She celebrated 24 years of sobriety, one of her greatest accomplishments.

Rose never missed an opportunity to dance, capitalizing on the chance to embarrass her kids. Her taste in music evolved over the years from songs like ‘Kiss from a Rose’ by Seal to ‘What it’s Like’ by Everlast or ‘I’m the Only One’ by Melissa Etheridge. Rose emphatically embraced her Irish heritage often incorporating it into her daily life, dreaming about traveling to Ireland one day. She had a fascination with astrology and was very in tune with the meaning behind events, names, and numbers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 25, from 12 pm until 4pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
