Rose Mary Spreitzer

November 18, 1926 — May 3, 2024

Rose Mary Spreitzer, 97, of Algonquin, IL, formerly Rockford, Il passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024. Rose Mary was born November 18, 1926, in Chicago, Il to the late William and Helen Sikorski. 

An accomplished artist, she enjoyed painting, ceramics, and sewing as well as traveling; having visited Hawaii, Japan, San Francisco, Alaska, and wherever the road would take she and Don. Rosemary was best known for her passion for Japanese culture and decor, which became her trademark esthetic. Both a traditionalist and early adopter, she was equally comfortable making schmarren in the kitchen or operating and selling some of the first personal computers. After retirement Rose Mary continued to give back to her community by volunteering at St Anthony's hospital for over a quarter of a century. Having touched so many lives, Rose Mary will be missed by many.

Rose Mary is survived by grandchildren, Brant (Jennifer) Spreitzer and Brice (Courtney) Spreitzer; great grandchildren, Cameron Spreitzer and Connor Spreitzer; daughters-in-law, Reba Spreitzer and Michaeline Spreitzer; sister, Joan Muehlfelder. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Donald Spreitzer; children, Mark Spreitzer and Gretchen Spreitzer; and sisters, Rita Kelly, Lorraine Skarren, Helen Tomski, Bernadette Sullaway. 

Visitation is scheduled for Monday May 13, 2024, from 4pm-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday May 14, 2024, at 10am at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois to follow.
