Rose Mary (Caputo) Riley

Rose Mary Caputo Riley, 75, of Oakwood Hills, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. She was born in Detroit, MI on September 1, 1947, to Dominic and Brigida Caputo.

On January 10, 1970, Rosie married Patrick “Mike” Riley in Detroit and honeymooned in Nassau, Bahamas. On December 25, 1975, they welcomed their first child, Michael, into the world. Then Dana, their daughter, was born on July 13, 1981.

Rosie’s passions in life were her children, cooking, quilting, entertaining, and traveling.  An avid quilter, Rosie belonged to the Crystal Lake Midwest and Gazebo Quilts. She created over one hundred beautiful quilts and made many friends. Many of her quilts were gifted to family and friends, as well as donated to various charitable causes.

She and Mike enjoyed traveling together to Florida, the Southwest, the Rocky Mountains, Michigan and Italy to visit with family and friends.

Her passion for cooking was central to many dinner parties.  She enjoyed sharing food, wine and laughs with loved ones.

A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, Rosie was a kind, cheerful and generous person. She touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.  She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Michael Riley and Dana (Matt) Eyles; and sisters, Vivian Caputo and Vera Conti.

A Celebration of Life for Rosie will be held in the Spring.
