Ross Allen Bogue
June 16,1959 – September 13, 2025
Ross Bogue, age 66, of Barrington, IL passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in South Bend, IN, Ross was the cherished son of Robert and Eleanor Bogue. After graduating from Clay High School and Indiana University Bloomington, he built a successful career in telecommunications, founding Communications Concepts Midwest in Chicago. Later, he enjoyed working in and investing in real estate, where he valued the relationships he built just as much as the business itself.
Ross will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit and the deep care he showed to everyone around him. He treasured time with family and friends. Ross never met a stranger—he had a way of making everyone feel welcome and included. He found joy in cheering on the Hoosiers, spending time on the water boating, fishing, biking, playing bags and bingo and being surrounded by his animals. This year, he and Maggie celebrated 25 wonderful years of marriage. More than anything, Ross adored being a husband, a proud dad to Tera, Grace, and Emily, and a loving grandpa to Sloane and Miles.
Ross loved his siblings Marj, Rob, Rodney, and Ralph and had a special gift for keeping his large family close. He hosted Zoom calls with cousins across the country making sure distance never stood in the way of connection.
Ross was a passionate member of the Presbyterian Church of Barrington and loved the welcoming church community there. He held leadership positions, hosted men's fellowship meetings around the fire, served as a Stephen Minister and founded the annual 5k run in Barrington Hills supporting several charities.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th, from 4pm - 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
Church service will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at 11am at Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 Brinker Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
Donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Barrington in support of the Fish Food Pantry in Carpentersville, a cause especially meaningful to Ross and one of the main beneficiaries of his Run the Hills 5K race.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the ER and ICU nurses and doctors of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
Ross will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
