Roy J. Bellio, 88, of Lake Zurich, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospital.

Born on March 4, 1937, in Chicago to Frank and Catherine (Bruno) Bellio, Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army. While on leave, he met the love of his life, Constance “Connie” Palumbo. They married on October 10, 1964, and together built a life centered on love, laughter, and family, raising two daughters, Kathyann and Della.

Roy was a quiet man with a big heart. He received his BSME at IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) He dedicated over 30 years as a mechanical engineer in the Defense Systems Division at Northrop Grumman. He had a playful sense of humor and found joy in simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He also enjoyed collecting coins and sharing stories with those closest to him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Roy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Connie Bellio; daughters Kathyann Bellio and Della (Mark) Allen; grandchildren Eileen (Stuart) Walsh, Jami Allen, Brendan Allen, and Rebecca Feery; his brother Anthony (Diane) Bellio; Connie’s siblings Patricia Palumbo, Frank (Angie) Mazzacano, and Maryann (Harry) Voegele; and many nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Mary (Dave) Edwards.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at a later date.

In place of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
