Russell J. Hilgenberg

Russell J. Hilgenberg, 68, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 28, 1954 in Elgin, IL to Gottlieb and Doris Hilgenberg.

Russell enjoyed camping and was an avid reader, especially any detective or adventure novel. Anyone that knew Russell, knew he liked smoking his cigarettes, a good cup of coffee and bacon. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Russell will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 27 years, Pamela ( nee Corvillion), children, Derek (Therea) Hilgenberg, Erick (Holly) Whitlow, David (Alli) Whitlow, Christopher (Summer) Whitlow, Kyle (Chelsea) Whitlow; grandchildren, Brady, Andrew, Alisabeth, Briana, Aimar, Wesley, Isaac, Tyrion, Iris, Beau and a baby girl on the way; his sister, Bobbi (Rick) Shatar; and by his furry companion, Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Randy and Rick Hilgenberg.

A memorial gathering with light refreshments will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1 PM until 4 PM at The Cottage, 6 E Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
