Sam "Bud" Cardella

Sam Cardella, 73, of St. Germain, Wisconsin, was born on July 23, 1944 and passed away on June 11, 2018. He was the loving husband of Carol for 52 years; beloved brother of John (Liz) Cardella, the late Frank (Georgia) Cardella, the late Anthony Cardella; uncle of Dave Cardella, Phillip (Sherri) Cardella, Matthew (Kiyomi) Cardella, and Rita (Omar) Bouzoubaa; nephew of Carol (the late John) Krach and Agnes (the late Don) Moore; cousin of Sue, Steve, Ellen, the late Arlene, Tom, Mary, Mike, Patrick and Bob.

Sam loved to fish and it led he and Carol to own and manage a resort for 47 successful seasons. While not having children of their own, Sam was a mentor and friend to nieces, nephews, cousins and children of friends. He was very active in St. Germain and the surrounding communities. He was a teacher for years in Dundee, Illinois until committing fully to running the resort year-round. His sense of humor, wit and spirit of fun will be sorely missed by friends and family alike.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 15, from 4:00-8:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. On Saturday, June 16, visitation will continue from 10:00am until the time of his service at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.
