Samuel Caniglia

Samuel Caniglia, 58, of Crystal Lake entered eternal life Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Barrington. He was born July 30 1952 in Long Beach, CA to Sam and Joy (nee Reed) Caniglia. He loved his family as much as he enjoyed spending time in the kitchen creating masterpieces of culinary art. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, growing his own herbs and spices, grilling out with friends and family. Food was his passion that he used to inspire many others. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Lambert); two daughters, Amanda and Savina; one grandchild, Gavin; one sister, Aneddra Joy Culpepper; his step-father, Talmas Benham Sr. and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Samuelia Sisto and one brother, Talmas Benham Jr.; his grandparents, Luise and Josephine (Anceri) Caniglia, Clarence and Edith Alvis (Mosses) Reed. Visitation will be held from 3-9pm, Tuesday, August 24 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am until the 11am service, Wednesday, August 25 at the funeral home.
