Samuel Andrew Denton III

Samuel “Sam” Andrew Denton III of Island Lake, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on June 25, 1947, in Highland Park, IL.

Sam married the love of his life, Monica Denton, on July 17, 1976, in Blue Island. He was a quiet but strong man, kind, honorable, and deeply devoted to his family.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Sam lived his life with integrity and a deep sense of responsibility. He worked hard, loved deeply, and found his greatest joy in his family. His face would light up whenever he got to be with, or FaceTime, his five-year-old grandson, Benjamin. Those moments meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Monica Denton; his son, William (Nicole Yerkes) Denton of Bolingbrook, IL; and his grandson, Benjamin.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel II and Virginia Denton, and his brother, Kim Denton.

A private memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady love, and the gentle way he cared for those around him.
