Santiago V. Ramos

Santiago V. Ramos, 91, passed away Monday June 19, 2023 in Lake Zurich, Illinois with his son Jamie by his side. He was born in Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico to the late Fernando Villalobos and Maria Del Rosario Alvarado. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War era and a retired Warehouse Manager. Santiago was a lifelong artist who loved to draw and paint pictures, and in recent years took up photography and sharing photos with those he cared about. Besides his parents, Santiago was preceded in death by his wife: Marilyn Ruth Pope Ramos, his daughter: Lisa M. Ramos, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Santiago is survived by his son James “Jamie” Ramos and his wife Wendy and their children: Samantha M. and Jaxson Q. Ramos.

A Celebration of Santiago’s Life will be held at 1 PM Friday July 14, 2023 at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes(1846 E. Oak St. New Albany, IN.) with burial and military honors in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 AM – 1 PM Friday at the funeral home before the service.

An additional memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 4 beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, 60047.

Memorial contributions in Santiago’s memory may be given to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
