Saranathan Sankarambodi

Saranathan Narasimhan Sankarambodi, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

S.N. Saranathan was born in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, India on August 5, 1942 as the youngest of nine siblings. He retired from Canara Bank after 33 years of dedicated service. He was considered an honest, trustworthy individual and was well respected by his colleagues.

Saranathan is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Geetha Saranathan; loving children, Krishnan Saranathan (Anu Krishnan), Priyam Girish (Girish Srinivasan); granddaughters, Varsha, Nishika, Trisha, and Niyathi; and his sister, Choodamani (Andal) Nedadur.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lakshminarasimhan Sankarambodi and Perundevi Thathachari and some of his older siblings.

A ceremony for Saranathan will be held from 11am until 2pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Saranathan’s name may be made to the NCH Foundation for the incredible care they provided him in his last days.
