Cary, Illinois,Funeral services for Sergio Hernandez, 58, will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation, Wednesday 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake. Born September 25, 1951, in Laredo, TX, he unexpectedly passed away, Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He served in the US Army, with the 11th Air Defense Signal Battalion of the 32rd Air Defense Command. Survivors include his fiancée, Christine Miller; mother Isabel Hernandez; brothers, Jesus (Gloria) Jr., Santos (Lana "Gail"), and Adolfo (companion Marcy Obermeyer Hernandez; his nephew, Brian (Felicia) Hernandez, and many other nieces and nephews; and "his beloved" dog, Sophia.
