Seth Austin Janschek

Seth Austin Janschek, 25, of Lake in the Hills, left this world in a tragic accident on July 30, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1998, in Winfield, KS, to Steven and Mary Janschek.

Seth lived life to the fullest. From a young age, he worked endlessly with his hands taking things a part and putting them back together. He spent hours fixing up everything from old lawnmowers to trucks and boats. He was always willing and wanting to fix things and solve problems. He was dedicated to his career as a foreman and barge operator at Captain Rod’s. He also owned a snow removal business.

Seth was committed to hard work and success. Seth loved his close community of friends. They were like family to him. He also enjoyed visiting his family in Maryland. They were very important to him. Growing up Seth attended and served at HoneyRock Christian Camp, in northern Wisconsin, where he learned about the truths of God. He had the opportunity to know and understand that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life for everyone who believes and receives Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Seth is survived by his loving parents, Steven and Mary Janschek and his brother Caleb of Lake in the Hills, IL; his loving grandparents, Gordon and Betty Janschek of LaPlata, MD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his loving grandparents: Stanley and Jean Birley of Olathe, KS.

Visitation will be Monday, August 14, 2023 from 4 PM  until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 11 AM at Springbrook Community Church, 10115 West Algonquin Rd., Huntley, IL 60142. Burial to follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park, Crystal Lake.

To honor Seth’s memory, casual attire is preferred.
