Shannon Carlene Morreale

Shannon Carlene (Nagel) Morreale, 43, of Cary, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 18, 2026, at JourneyCare in Barrington.

She was born on September 27, 1982, in Taylorville, Illinois, to Douglas and Anne (Springs) Nagel. Shannon graduated from Taylorville High School with the Class of 2000 and later earned her degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2005.

Shannon met her future husband, Jason Morreale, on a blind date. That chance meeting turned into a wonderful life together. They were married on September 20, 2008, and were blessed with three children, Andrew, Max, and Charlotte, who were the center of Shannon's world.

For more than 15 years, Shannon worked at State Farm in Cary. She was active in the community through the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, Deer Path Elementary School's PTO, and the Miss Cary Pageant. Whether volunteering her time or supporting local events, Shannon enjoyed bringing people together and making others feel welcome.

Shannon was known for her great sense of humor, outgoing personality, and ability to make friends wherever she went. She was smart, caring, and genuinely interested in people. Her friendships meant a great deal to her, and she maintained a wide circle of friends throughout her life.

More than anything, Shannon loved being a mom. She rarely missed a game, match, or event and could often be found cheering from the sidelines. Watching Andrew, Max, and Charlotte do the things they loved brought her tremendous pride and happiness. Of all the roles she held in life, being their mom was the one she treasured most.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Jason; her children, Andrew, Max, and Charlotte; her parents, Douglas and Anne Nagel; her sisters, Erin (Michael) Linton and Kerry (Tom) Lukow; and many loving relatives and friends.
