Sherri Lynn (Dyson) Kelch

Sherri Lynn Kelch (nee Dyson), age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

Sherri was born in Bloomington, IL on December 18, 1946. She lived and worked in the northwest Chicago suburbs until she married Francis Kelch and moved to Ohio.  She lived in Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, North Carolina and finally Illinois again.  Traveling and annual trips with her Ohio friends, the Chapmans, were a big part of her life.  Sherri was very active in the church and actually felt her calling as a church administrator.  She had that role in churches in Archdale, NC, and Waukegan, IL.  At her member churches, she worked in the church offices, headed committees, and volunteered.  She volunteered with Abounding Ministries and had a strong friendship with Rich and Jane Rubietta.  Sherri’s interests were wide and varied.  She had a way with little children with most taking an instant liking to her.  She worked at a Mom’s Day Out program in Missouri and baby sat (day care) with children in her home in Ohio, Missouri, and Kansas.  All that and she was a great mom to her two kids.

Sherri is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Francis Kelch; loving children, Deanna (Sam) Amirante and David (Bridgette) Kelch; granddaughters, Casey (Ryan) Klockowski and Sofiabella Amirante; great-grandson, Connor Klockowski; and brothers, Richard (Terry) and John (Karen) Dyson.

Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Leona Dyson; and sister, Deanna Singsime.

A visitation for Sherri will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. A second visitation will be held the following morning at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of service at 10am. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington, IL
