Skip Fisher

Bernard M Fisher (Skip), 73, of Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, after a courageous and lengthy illness.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kristen (Kempf) Fisher; his three children; and many extended family members and cherished friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Born on March 18,1953, in Indianapolis, IN, Skip was the son of Bernard and Virginia Fisher. He spent his early years in Indianapolis, IN, where he developed the values, friendships, and character that would define him throughout his life.

Skip graduated from Arlington High School in 1971. His high school years were filled with friendships that remained meaningful throughout his life. He later attended Indiana University, where he studied business and was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta. The lifelong friendships and memories he made during those years were among his greatest treasures.

Professionally, Skip dedicated his career to sales and marketing in the financial services industry. He was respected by colleagues and clients alike for his integrity, knowledge, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He was someone people could always count on, treating everyone with honesty, kindness, and respect while taking great pride in doing things the right way. His professionalism, character, and quiet dedication left a lasting impression on his colleagues, clients, and all whose lives he touched.

Beyond his career, Skip will be remembered most for the man he was. Kind, loyal, compassionate, and generous, with a wonderful sense of humor and could make anyone LAUGH and feel welcome.

Skip had a lifelong love of sports, especially NFL football, NHL hockey, and horse racing. He also enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends, but his greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved.

He shared a special bond with his devoted dog, Cooper, whose loyal companionship brought him comfort, happiness, and unconditional love throughout the years of his illness.

One of the most meaningful relationships in Skip's life was the bond he shared with Don Kempf, father of his wife Kristen. Though not related by blood, Skip loved and respected him as a father. Their relationship was built on mutual admiration, friendship, unwavering support, and the enduring belief that family is defined by love.

Throughout his long illness, Skip was blessed by the kindness and compassion of many. His family extends their deepest gratitude to all who provided comfort, dignity, and exceptional care during this difficult journey. Their unwavering support brought comfort not only to Skip but also to his wife Kristen, and they will always be remembered with profound gratitude.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 30th, with a visitation at 1 p.m. to time of Service at 3 p.m., all at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.

Skip was a loving and devoted husband whose unwavering love, strength, and companionship were the foundation of our life together. His kindness, generosity, humor, and quiet strength touched countless lives, and his memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. He will be deeply missed every day, forever loved, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to CurePSP or the Parkinson's Foundation. Donations will support research, education, and resources for individuals and families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Parkinson's disease.
