Stephanie J. Graff

Stephanie J. Graff, 93, a 10 year resident of Barrington, formerly of Northbrook for 45 years, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023 at her residence at The Garlands. She was born on August 20, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Josephine Szydlowski.

While living in Northbrook, Stephanie was an active member of Our Lady of the Brook Parish and later with St. Anne Catholic Community when she moved to Barrington. She was employed by Allstate Motor Club for 15 years.

Known as the “Walker”, she loved walking – especially around the Garlands; she also was active in their community and enjoyed participating in their exercise classes, crafts, dancing, singing and Bingo.

Stephanie was a happy, positive and sweet person and almost always had a smile on her face. She never complained and had a grateful heart. She loved life and enjoyed living it. Her lifestyle was simple, but for her it was complete. She was happily married for 48 years to her late husband Art, who was the love of her life. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she spent as much time with them as she could

Her loving, kind, caring and calm demeanor always put people at ease.  She will be deeply missed but always fondly remembered by anyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children who loved and adored her, Arthur Jr. (Laurel) Graff, Robert (Sheryl) Graff, and Nancy (Dave) Panicko; cherished by her grandchildren, Eric (Laura), Renee, Bobby, Michael, Matthew and Nicole Graff, David and Steven Panicko; great-grandchild, Emy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Graff Sr., her parents; her siblings, William Szydlowski, Jean Broda and Alice Mahnke.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM until the funeral mass at 10:30 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington. Interment will be held at Ridgewood Memorial Park.
