Susan Lucas, 78, of Wauconda passed away on September 12, 2025.
She was born in Key West, Florida on November 22, 1946, to Robert and Marianne (Myatt) Lake. Susan was known for her bubbly spirit, feisty personality, and caring heart. She loved cats, enjoyed snow skiing, and treasured her travels with her women’s group. A talented crafter, she sold her creations at local markets and joyfully gave all of the proceeds to cat rescue efforts.
Over the years, Susan worked as an administrator for the U.S. Army and at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center at the Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago, Illinois. She spent much of her life in Lake County, where she touched the hearts of many through her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Lucas; her nieces, Nancy Nanzur and Brittany Lake; and her nephew, Paule Manna.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Cathy Manna and Bob Lake
