Susan M. (Ballou) Rodd

Susan Rodd, 64, of Lake in the Hills, passed away on December 10, 2023 in Barrington. Born on June 23, 1959, in Detroit, Susan was a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her battle with cancer was a true testament to her unwavering strength and strong will.

Susan's life was defined by her unwavering love for her family.  She reveled in the simple joys of life. Engaging in activities like reading, crafting, and constructing Legos with her children and grandson, Liam, was a source of immense happiness for her.  Additionally, time spent in her garden, surrounded by a vibrant tapestry of flowers, added a layer of beauty and tranquility to her life. Her affection for her dogs was a true testament to her caring and compassionate nature.

She leaves behind her children, Jonathan (Kristelle Taclibon) Rodd, Christopher Rodd, Courtney (John) Carter, her grandson, Liam; her mother, Patricia Marbrey; brother, Robert Ballou; and former husband, David Rodd.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Lee Ballou and her beloved dogs.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, from 4pm until a prayer service at 7:30pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Susan's memory will be cherished as a symbol of love and resilience. Her life's story inspires us to face challenges with courage and to find joy in every moment spent with loved ones.
