Terrance Kenneth Riha

Terrance "Terry" Kenneth Riha, 81, of Cary, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 14, 1945 in Knox, Indiana to James and Grace Riha. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom.

Terry was the beloved husband of 60 years to his beloved wife, Carol. He was a loving father to Lisa (Sam) Baker and Sean (Shelby) Riha, and the proudest grandfather to Grace and Emma Baker, and Willow and Harlan Riha. His lessons will live on through his children and grandchildren, who are forever grateful for the valuable life wisdom he passed down to them.

A man of honor and dedication, Terry came from a family with a tradition of military service, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who served in World War I, and his father, who served in World War II. Terry himself was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War, where he served with the same discipline and commitment that defined his family’s legacy. It was there that he first developed the skills that would shape the rest of his life, and he carried that training forward into a distinguished career as an Executive Chef, which in time grew into a long and satisfying career in the food service industry. His gift for cooking wasn’t just his profession, it was a blessing he shared generously with his entire family around the dinner table, making Thanksgiving and just about all family gatherings extraordinary memories that will be forever treasured.

Outside of the kitchen, Terry’s heart belonged to his loyal Labrador Retrievers. He spent many happy years with his beloved dogs, Walker and Harvey, and leaves behind his current buddy, Auggie, affectionately nicknamed "Junior," who was constantly by his side.

Terry will be deeply missed by his family, many dear friends, and his faithful dog, Auggie. His presence will leave a void that can never be filled, but memories of his life will continue to bring comfort to all who knew him.
