Thelma Stevens

Thelma (nee Schmitt) Stevens, 78, of Barrington, passed away January 11, 2016 in Barrington. Thelma was a true lady. Her greatest passions in life were children, classical music, and travel; a founding member of Chicago Master Singers. She was the devoted wife of Nelson Stevens for 57 years; beloved mother of Lynn Ragon, Joyce (Bill) Porter, Kathy Munio, and Nelson E. Stevens; and cherished grandmother of Nicholas, Natalie, and Maddie Munio, Nikki, and Noelle Porter, Ashley Pace, Octavio, Vicente and Thelma Sophia Stevens, and Dylan Bull-Stevens. Visitation, Thursday, 3 to 9pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010. Interment private. A memorial service with performances from CMS - Chicago Master Singers, co-founded by Thelma Stevens, will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at The Orchard Evangelical Church, 1330 North Douglas Ave, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
