Timothy Nathan Haslett

  With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Timothy Nathan Haslett, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the age of 69.

  Tim was born in Summerville, Nova Scotia, Canada, and carried the spirit of his roots with him throughout his life. For the past 39 years, he made his home in Algonquin, Illinois, where he built a life centered around his family, hard work, and the things he loved most.

  He proudly retired from Waste Management after 40 years of dedicated service. Known to many as the “Lawn Mower Man,” Tim took great pride in keeping his yard in perfect condition. He also had a passion for grilling and was the family’s go-to grill master. Some of his favorite moments were spent outdoors—fishing, camping with his family, or flying remote control airplanes, and enjoying sports with his friends and family.

  Tim is survived by his partner in life Debra Haslett, children: Daniel (Brittany), Sean (Jayne), and his adored grandsons William, Edison, and Elliot. He is also survived by his sister, Denise Caper.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley N. Haslett; mother, Una Haslett; sister, Judith Tefry; and brother, Randall Haslett.

  A celebration of Tim’s life will be held June 21st in Barrington Il. In his memory, the family invites you to enjoy time outdoors, cast a line, or fire up the grill—just as he would have liked

  A memorial visitation for Timothy will be held from 10am until the time of service at 1pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010.

  In lieu of flowers, donations in Timothy’s name may be made to: Your favorite Animal Shelter or Alexian Hospice House. Flowers are welcome, please omit lilies.
