Timothy Patrick O'Neill, affectionately known as Tim or Timmy, passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 76 in Crystal Lake, IL. He was born on July 16, 1947, in Chicago, IL, and grew up in Park Ridge, IL. As a child, he spent every summer at his grandparents' summer home in Crystal Lake, which eventually became his permanent residence in 1983.
Tim was a stand-up guy who was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and community. He had a great and sincere passion for life. Known for being a straight shooter, Tim always spoke his mind and never hesitated to stand up for what he believed in. He was also incredibly kind and generous, always ready to help neighbors and friends in need. For decades, he selflessly plowed the driveways of elderly residents in his neighborhood without charge.
Tim actively participated in his community and held various positions within his homeowner's association, including President, Vice-President, street director, and beach commissioner. He was also a regular attendee at McHenry County Board, Crystal Lake City Council, and Crystal Lake Park District meetings, advocating for the betterment of his association and the community as a whole.

O'Neill (Rix), his brother Daniel O'Neill (Phyllis), his sister Patricia Haas (John), his sister Mary Jo Cavanaugh (Mark), and his nephew Matthew O'Neill.
Timothy received his education at St. Paul of the Cross and Mary Seat of Wisdom in Park Ridge, IL, and Notre Dame in Niles, IL. He furthered his education in Horticulture and spent many years working and managing nurseries in the area. Later, his expertise in operating heavy machinery led him to a second career as a Union, Local 150 Heavy Machine Operator, from which he retired at the age of 70. Tim was known for his exceptional work ethic and rarely missed a day of work.
A proud member of the Army Reserves for 5 years, Tim had a strong sense of duty and commitment to his country. He served with honor and dedication.
Timothy O'Neill worshipped at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
In his leisure time, Tim enjoyed spending quality moments with friends and neighbors at the local pub. He had a passion for playing poker, washers, and shooting darts and pool. One of his annual highlights was his fishing trip to Wisconsin with his closest friends.
