Venera A. (Malkovich) Corsello

Venera A. Corsello, 93, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on January 20, 1930, in Eveleth, MN to Eli and Mika Malkovich.

She absolutely loved the outdoors. She also loved all kinds of music and spent endless hours gazing at the stars as a child in northern Minnesota and did so for the rest of her life. She could swing a bat, swing a golf club, swing a tennis racket and swing on the dance floor. She also loved to travel and logged hundreds (maybe thousands) of miles on her bicycles over the years. She worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for 40 years retiring at age 83 and even volunteered at the hospital after retiring.

Venera is survived by her sons, Richard (Nancy) and Robert (Linda) Corsello; grandchildren Trevor and Paige. She also adored her many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and those professionals who cared for her in her retirement at Brookdale and Sunrise Senior Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore; her parents Eli and Mika and her siblings Dora, Mildred, Anne, Mary, Peter, Gary and Donny.

A celebration of Venera’s life will be held at a later date.
