Victor G. Meier

Victor G. "Vic" Meier, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, veteran, and friend, passed away with his loving family by his side. Those who knew him best will remember him first and foremost as a family man whose greatest joy was the people he loved.

To his family, Vic was more than a husband, father, and grandfather; he was their protector, their provider, and the steady presence they could always depend on. He lived by his word, put his family first, and loved them with quiet strength every day. He shared nearly 59 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Leona M. Meier. Together they built a life grounded in love, laughter, loyalty, and unwavering devotion, raising four daughters who remained the pride of his life.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Leona M. Meier; his daughters, Lisa F. Barth (Steve Barth), Laura "Lu" J. Meier (Ray Conchado), Nichole Meier Churchill (Benjamin Churchill), and Amy L. Meier (Erick Fluger); his grandchildren, Justin Barth (Skye), Alex Barth (Kayleigh Romero), Nicholas Givens, Brendan Givens, Ryan Givens, Quinn Churchill, Violet Churchill, Liam Fluger, and Finn Fluger; his great-grandchildren, Rorik and Ranni Barth; and his siblings, Clement Meier, Edward Meier, Marilyn Carr, Martin Meier, Michael Meier, Janet Meier, and Ann Beres, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Blake Barth; his sister, Irene Modaro; and his parents, Clement and Frances Meier.

Vic's work ethic was extraordinary. He began working at just 13 years old and continued without pause until this past winter. He spent his career as a trusted business owner, salesman and consultant in the paint and decorating products industry. More important than his success was the reputation he built. His honesty, integrity, and loyalty earned the trust of everyone who knew him.

Wherever Vic went, he made friends. His warm personality, quick wit, and playful sense of humor drew people to him. He loved teasing those he cared about, pulling practical jokes, and making people laugh. Whether hosting family gatherings, work dinners, or celebrations with friends, Vic believed life was meant to be shared. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday. Fireworks, patriotism, good food, and time with family and friends made it the celebration he looked forward to most.

Vic proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in fewer than four years. He also enjoyed golfing, working on his cars, attending car shows, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

More than anything else, Vic will be remembered for the consistent, quiet way he loved. Everything he worked for was for his family. He was never motivated by what he could gain for himself, but by what he could provide for those he loved. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, countless friendships, and a legacy of integrity, loyalty, and unconditional love. His life's work was his family, and that will forever be his greatest legacy. 

Visitation will be Monday, July 27, 2026, from 3 p.m. to time of Memorial Service 6:30 p.m. all at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.
